My name is Jed Dycoco and I'm here to invite you to join me in creating this new studio album project for this year 2025!
It has been a long while since I released an produced an album. The last one was way back in 2017 with Scarlet Alley for the album "Buhay, Bayan, Babae...Beer". The launching was a success as it served as the culmination of our hard work and passion for crafting such an album. I then got married and moved to Metro Manila to live with my wife and raise our daughter. I admit, being a songwriter while trying to pay bills was so tough for me. I had to focus on my day job. But my writing never stopped. I tried it but believe me, it was torture. Music gave color to my life, and putting it on hold or mute was like having a hangover. Lesson learned, never turn your back on music. Especially if you were given a gift to make songs.
Fast forward to 2021, I was given an opportunity to record a new song entitled "Arangkada". It was a collaboration with the band Spoonplay. It was used for a non-profit organization to promote voting the right officials for the government. In 2022, it was also used as a theme song for Gawad Kalinga's "Bayani Challenge", a nationwide volunteer event in the country. It gave me a new hope, that I still had it.
In 2024, I discovered this community of songwirters. I attended an intimate sharing and it lit up the fire in me. I have a lot of lyrics written and demos recorded on my phone, I know they were good but was hesitant to share it. The Singer Songwriters Philippines served as my reminder to put those songs out. I then started joining open mic sessions to share my new songs.
Each month I was even more inspired and in November 27, 2024, I finally released "Arangkada" in digital platforms. From then on I decided I should start working on my next Album, this time as "The Blue Maroon".
This also serves as my gift to those who continued to listen to my songs and always supported me. Until now I continue to get messages of some listeners saying they still are playin my songs and even sharing it to the younger generation. Hoping this new album will also inspire more lives, to go forward, keeping the faith, fighting for what is right, and most of all, to Love.
"I believe there is that one song for every person will need to hear at one point in their life. This is why I continue to create new ones. It just might be the one for someone out there. "
